  • Overview

    Reporting to the Campus / Bookstore Director of Sales , the Sr. Manager of Campus / Bookstore Sales ( East ) will be primarily responsible for the field management , support , and development of our multi-brand Collegiate and High School Bookstore business , including institutional self-operated stores , privately owned / operated stores , and Barnes & Noble lease managed stores .  This sales leadership role and opportunity requires direct sales representative and customer management, including ongoing sales territory evaluation and sales representative hiring, training, and development.

    The self-motivated, results driven individual will establish, maintain, and foster strong, collaborative working relationships and partnerships with customers, sales representatives, and internal support departments.


    1. Manage and drive multi-brand (Champion, Under Armour, Gear For Sports, Alternative Apparel, and Hanes Comfort Wash) collegiate / high school bookstore sales model and strategy.
    2. Work with Campus / Bookstore Sales Directors, Brand Management and Art teams on development, implementation, and execution of brand / customer class growth strategies
    3. Develop, manage, and evaluate territorial / account marketing and sales incentive programs.
    4. Establish, drive, and evaluate seasonal and annual sales goals at both the territorial and key account level.
    5. Assist and contribute in the development and utilization of key rep / customer evaluation tools and channel / brand sales tools.
    6. Support and develop strong, collaborative working relationships with Campus Sales Representatives, customers, and Licensing Director’s, where applicable.
    7. Field Sales Representative hiring, training, and development.
    8. Assist/contribute in the planning and execution of sales meetings and trade shows.
    9. Establish and development a disciplined, sustainable key customer retail POS plan that provides key customer and product metrics for internal review and education.
    10. Recognize and understand the potential of direct sales responsibilities in the short/long term strategy.
    11. Manage/Drive Campus “hot” markets business opportunities.
    12. Manage primary sales and direct communication responsibility for key bookstore buying organizations such as ICBA, Connect to One, SBX & NEBC.



    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 


    • Four year degree
    • Five – Seven years of successful sales and sales management experience in the apparel industry
    • Quantifiable accomplishments in development of attainable and aggressive sales goals
    • Knowledge in translating marketing plans into effective sales strategies in the apparel industry
