  • Overview

    Responsible for the oversight of the Golf Management Groups and GFS Tournament business.  “Tournament business” refers to National Events (USGA,PGA, TPC, Sr. PGA, etc.), independent PGA tournaments (AT+T, Colonial, Torrey Pines, etc), and local tournaments (sectional events, member guest, corporate outings, etc.).  This position will partner with the Dir UA Sales to execute strategies to develop and enhance new and existing customer relationships to advance and procure additional sales in both the Golf Tournament and Golf Event sales arenas.


    • Develop Management Group programs and  strategies to positively affect sales while achieving profit goals,
    • Develops tactical plans to attain monthly, quarterly, seasonal and annual sales targets and profit margins,
    • Executes strategies to overcome projected sales short falls and move discontinued inventory,
    • Partners with GFS corporate teams to assure integration and alignment of resources to enhance the Tournament and Management Group selling opportunity,
    • Management and execution of high visibility events (USGA,PGA,Ryder Cup) and relationships,
    • Development of assortment plans and incentive programs as it relates to both Management Group and Tournament Businesses.
    • Must be able to drive profitable sales with both Management Groups and Tournament business. Attains all sales objectives by planning, assessing, retooling and achieving sales initiatives and strategies.
    • Continually prospects new customers and demonstrates the ability to understand current marketplace influences and conditions.
    • Develop and maintain excellent relationship with current and potential customers.  Must be able to deliver effective sales presentations and motivate sales staff.  Must be able to develop metrics for diagnostic evaluation of sales achievement and provide remediation as necessary. 


    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in the content area of apparel, business or marketing
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
    • 5 years of Sales Management or Sr. Key Account Management experience necessary or 5 years operations management experience in a resort and/or golf club environment.
    • Must be very organized, assertive, self-starting and analytical
    • Must have fluent understanding of market place challenges, preferably in the golf apparel industry, and have demonstrated career progression. Must have or be able to develop a keen understanding of competitors and their programs and align our GFS and UA resources to develop market right programs.
