  • Overview

    The Senior Buyer is responsible for aggressively planning and executing the merchandise strategies to meet or exceed top line sales, gross margin.  The incumbent will procure champion and Champion licensed assortments across diverse geographic regions and store types including Champion.com.  Positively lead a dynamic team with speed and agility.


    • Develop and execute merchandise strategies and assortment plans based on customer feedback to deliver financial results
    • Partner with Champion BU to develop Local, Exclusive and products for stores and website
    • Manage OTB expectations and disciplines; react timely to business needs
    • Lead the strategic thought process to develop merchandise financial plans by brand and category
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal business leads and outside vendors
    • Negotiate costs, exclusive product assortments and timely deliveries to maximize sales and margin
    • Consistently evaluate space productivity to build the optimal assortment
    • Build style out process to fit the needs of the business and remain aligned with customer needs
    • Identify white space and build plans to aggressively go get
    • Create a team environment that fosters new and innovative ideas
    • Set and monitor in season promotional strategies for stores and champion Website
    • Partner with marketing team to build and execute market plans incorporating new product launches, in store events and grass roots ideas



    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 


    • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent years of comparable experience
    • Strong merchandising, product and marketing skills
    • Demonstrates strong solutions based skill sets
    • Highly organized leader
    • Demonstrates the ability to lead positively through change
    • Takes accountability for business and actions to drive results
    • 7 plus years of experience in like product market
    • Proven track record of positive sales results
