  • Overview

    This position is responsible for overall performance of the Direct-to-Consumer distribution center in Rural Hall, NC. The Senior Manager plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls all distribution and office/support center activities. Proven experience in building and developing a high performing team is critical because selection, development and motivation of all facility employees are key responsibilities. Accountable for achieving facility objectives with regard to safety, service, quality and cost while managing the complexity and generating the sense of urgency necessary in an ecommerce environment.

    This role will use an analytical approach to review and report all data and information in support of all established KPIs and programs for the Direct-to-Consumer operation. Proven experience in activity based budgeting and good understanding of the connection between performance and cost are key in this position.  The Sr. Manager will also help define strategies for new methods and processes within the ecommerce operation as well as implementing and sustaining best practices in production and related material handling equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and oversight to the Direct-to-Consumer management team to ensure highest level of employee performance and morale while driving continuous improvement and managing change in the operation. Promote an environment of learning and continuous growth at all levels within the site.
    • Daily KPI Execution: Plan and prioritize available production orders to create the sense of urgency needed to ensure all customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met, daily and weekly. Promote the highest level of expectations for achieving established standards in Safety, Quality and Productivity. Provide situational leadership to all Order fulfillment leaders and employees for strategic execution.    
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement through Lean concepts and problem solving techniques. Organize and develop department staff at all levels to set the standard of continuous improvement at the individual, departmental, facility and organizational levels.
    • Production Planning and Budgeting: Produce and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly data related to the site’s performance to budget. Take an active role in planning for annual budget cycles in support of the Director.
    • Interaction with Stakeholders and Resources Outside of Production:  Interact with transportation, IT, marketing, forecasting, production planning, customer service, quality, finance, facilities management and senior leadership to ensure compliance to internal and external standards and requirements while meeting and/or exceeding shipment and budgetary plans.

    Qualifications

     

    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

     

    Required:

    • BA/BS in Business,
    • Engineering or Logistics/Supply chain Management.
    • 10 years of distribution/ecommerce leadership experience will be considered to satisfy education requirement.  
    • 5+ years’ experience in operations, distribution and/or Supply chain management 
    • Ecommerce fulfillment operations experience a plus
    • General managerial experience, strong systems orientation in Manhattan or comparable WMS
    • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS office, especially MS Excel
    • Demonstrated skills in staffing, activity based budgeting, communication and organizational development 
    • Demonstrated track record of process improvement/Lean initiatives

     

    Preferred:

     

    • MBA or other Master’s Degree Preferred
    • Ecommerce leadership experience preferred
