  • Overview

    The Director of Marketing for American Casualwear will drive vision in the total Printwear market managing 4 brands and drive the Hanes Activewear retail brand vision.  This position is responsible for the development, planning, and management of product and brand strategy, while managing the financial plans that drive the strategy to grow sales and profit.  This position reports to the VP/GM of American Casualwear.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage the execution of the annual / long range operating plans and business objectives for assigned categories - includes financial planning, product assortment, new product development, and interface with WalMart, Target and other major customers.
    • Serve as a key communication point between HbI's front-end and supply chain team.
    • Drive sales and profit growth through strategic marketing plans.
    • Develop and maintain a full pipeline of innovation and business initiatives and manage them to achieve planned financial performance.
    • Develop communication strategy & objectives for new product introductions.
    • Work closely with the sales team to ensure objectives are aligned and
    • Identify consumer research needs and leverage insights to identify innovation platform opportunities for all responsible categories, following the HbI “Big Idea” process.
    • Attend/prepare for account calls, understand account needs/desires and assist sales force to gain new distribution and expansion.
    • Ensure timely, efficient execution of POS and packaging
    • Maintain a high performance work environment and provide leadership throughout areas of responsibility to insure optimum internal and external partner relationships.
    • Manage and develop direct reports in the marketing team to ensure development of strong marketing and leadership skills.
    • Present marketing initiatives to senior management, key stakeholders and HbI marketing and customer management groups, as needed.
    • Manage MAP budget including annual planning and monthly budget reporting.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

     

    • BA/BS in marketing, business administration or related discipline. MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in brand and/or product marketing with minimum of 4 years in managerial/decision making capacity.
    • Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to deliver financial results through leadership of team.
    • Skills in strategy and business development, product merchandising, brand development and analysis, marketing, and financial planning and analysis.
    • Expert knowledge of apparel marketplace and retailer trends a plus.
    • Incumbent must have strong analytical abilities and be able to apply concepts from a broad business perspective. Knowledge of basic strategic planning concepts, marketing and the general management process are essential. Refined oral and written communication skills are a necessity, due to daily contact with all levels of HBI and our customers’ management. The ability to work effectively to drive results with all functional areas and at all levels is a critical part of the position.
    • Incumbent must be a team player and have the ability to positively influence constituents.  Must exhibit the appropriate sense of urgency at all times and be able to work well under tight deadlines.  Must be able to take ownership of stated roles and achieve results.  Incumbent must be committed to the highest business and ethical standards as outlined by HBI’s global operating standards and must exhibit this commitment at all times.
