  • Overview

    The objective of the Commercial Accountant II position is to accurately report, analyze, and pay contractual and intercompany royalties (including Knights Apparel, Polo, DK/DKNY, National Park Foundation). 

    Responsible for performing accounting functions that support accurate reporting of royalty expenditures with HBI intercompany partners and contracted licensors.   Prepares monthly journal entries, account analysis including intercompany transactions in multiple currencies. This position will include ongoing reporting and analysis of monthly/quarterly results to the Knights Apparel Sales/Marketing team members. Ad hoc reporting and analysis will include sales dashboard reporting and trends and licensor royalty expense analysis.


    • Compile monthly data from system extracts to format and report sales information for each agency contract.
    • Perform accounting functions and reporting for $45 -50MM in domestic royalty expense and $15 -20MM in international royalty expense transactions.
    • Support business reporting, and analysis for the Knights Apparel royalty contract obligations by agency school.
    • Monthly Closing and Financial Reporting responsibilities: comply with monthly closing schedule, ensure accuracy of key ledger accounts including royalty accruals and inter-company accounts, prepare and submit check requests to outside licensors by contractual due dates and respond to internal and external audit inquires as requested.



    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 


    • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance required
    • 1-4 years experience with Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and handle a high volume of tasks under time constraints.
    • Preferred familiarity with commercial accounting
    • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables and v-lookup) and other Microsoft Office Products
    • Knowledge of Hyperion, SAP FI/CO and Lawson
