  • Overview

    The Senior Analyst, Forecasting creates and communicates the demand signals for assigned brand(s) of Hanesbrands, Inc. products.  Applies business, technical, and analytical expertise, while utilizing SAS to efficiently estimate demand for assigned products.  Collaborates with the planning, marketing and sales teams to finalize the demand signals (Events, TILs & SKU forecast).  Facilitates financial planning pre-incentive net sales plans utilizing SAS with collaborative input from marketing and sales.  Advises the commercial group in support of business objectives, by providing a fact-based perspective on market dynamics, trends, opportunities, risks, and product performance. 

    Responsibilities

    • Utilizes SAS Demand and Sales pyramids tools to generate statistical forecasts and incorporate collaborative input from internal consensus participants. Manages SKU level forecasts in SAS for weekly export to the operations planning process.
    • Analyzes and consolidates large volumes of data (e.g., shipments and cancels, point-of-sale, distribution outlets, retail inventory, market share, and promotional activity). Develops a fact-based point of view, and communicate to management via presentations and reports.
    • Facilitates monthly TIL review meetings with Marketing to communicate trends and assumptions. Assimilates information from collaborative input and provide recommendations for TIL adjustments.
    • Facilitates event approval process and enter into EMS (Event Management System). Generates new product and fashion color event files, and then collect sales input and gain marketing approval.  Routes all standard events through approval process.
    • When appropriate, recommends discontinuation of existing items.
    • Develops and maintains weekly SKU level demand signals (Events, TILs & SKU forecasts) for new, new-active, and core products by utilizing statistical forecasting models, incorporating customer-supplied data, integrating market intelligence and/or applying other techniques to define the best methods to forecast customer demand.
    • Facilitates financial planning pre-incentive net sales plans utilizing SAS with collaborative input from marketing and sales.
    • Supports long range capacity planning processes by maintaining unit forecasts for 24 future months in SAS.
    • Communicates regularly with Sales, Marketing, Planning, and Customer Operations functions.
    • Identifies key opportunities and obstacles inherent to the forecasting process. Assists management in continuous improvement of the process.

    Qualifications

     

    Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

     

    • Undergraduate degree, preferably with a Masters Degree
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to lead and facilitate consensus meetings
    • Ability to articulate assumptions, methods, and results to peers and management, and to influence decision making
    • Strong math, analytical and conceptual skills
    • Detail Orientation
    • Strong computer skills – database and spreadsheet tools. SAP experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Financial practices, and the Sales and Operations Planning process
    • Understanding of forecasting methods and applications, including statistical modeling
    • Understanding of variation and process control concepts
    • Understanding of supply chain management practices (ex. lean manufacturing)
    • Ability to learn quickly, remain flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
