  • Overview

    This position is responsible for management of the growth and profitability for the HBI Urban Outfitters global business as part of this over-all team.  Position is accountable for managing a range of business elements that will vary over time, however will include a need for internal functional expertise including but not limited to sales, marketing, finance and operations. We are looking for an individual who is driven by results and determined to succeed even under pressure. Based in Winston-Salem, you’ll contribute to the development of the sales strategy and maximize profitability for the company and the account. Position is specifically responsible for managing reporting, analytic, tactical and operational aspects of sales for Urban Outfitters global business.  Accordingly, this position will require a thorough understanding of the customer from strategy to tactics.  The ability to understand them will have a direct impact on profitable sales growth.

    Responsibilities

    1. Serve as the communication link between the Urban Outfitters and the HBI internal cross-functional teams – sales, customer operations, customer service, finance, marketing/SBU’s, and other cross-functional areas for all business aspects.
    2. Provide excellent Account management through Champion’s Go To Market process, working as a collaborative team with planners, marketing, merchandisers and supply chain to ensure seasonal goals are achieved.
    3. Work collaboratively with Sr. Customer Development Mgr. to create account plans based on financial planning, sell-thru, account specific objectives (financial and category), Champion Strategy and an understanding of the retailer’s consumer base.
    4. Assist Sr. Customer Development Mgr. in conducting seasonal sell-in sessions at the appropriate level, based on account strategies, and conduct a post-season tear down, based on what worked, opportunities going forward and adjustments needed for the next seasons.
    5. Work with Sr. Customer Development Mgr. to manage the marketplace by ensuring best presentation of stories and product at the appropriate time. Work closely with category teams, planning and account team on directed door level assortment plans that contribute to a differentiated consumer experience & ensure appropriate seasonal product flow by category and by month, in order to optimize account opportunities.
    6. Exhibit a knowledge of the Urban Outfitters global data sources.  Perform reporting and  analysis including sales, inventory, productivity, etc. to identify business building opportunities.
    7. Partner in development and presentation of sales opportunities (both internal and external) to achieve results consistent with volume and profit objectives.
    8. Troubleshoot issues/opportunities to ensure successful execution of programs and completion of objectives.
    9. Build communication and cooperation among functional management areas that impact account needs in order to deliver more marketable, competitive products that will provide opportunities to the account, and drive growth for HBI.
    10. The scope of the position includes product set-ups, market analysis, account sales analysis, understanding of all sales and marketing programs.
    11. Develop strong relationships with account management, buying, replenishment and financial planning staffs.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience Required:

     

    Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

    Athletic product and/or consumer products large account sales or senior retail divisional management experience strongly preferred

    Minimum 3-5 years sales, retail buying, or marketing experience in the athletic or fashion apparel industry and/or CPG experience. 

    Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills required.

    Demonstrated track record of successfully working with major accounts toward increasing revenue, creating and driving a holistic business plan inclusive of short and long term business strategies and financial targets.

    Ability to influence both cross-functionally and vertically within industry and marketplace

    Strong communication skills (oral and written), including excellent presentation skills.

    Financial Acumen; must fully understand retail scorecard drivers, and be able to manage detailed analytics

    Possess strong tactical skills; able to manage detailed execution plans, both internally and externally

    Proven ability to build strong business relationships.

    Proven ability as a “thinker”, a “strategist” and a “problem solver”

    Travel required.
