    The Purchasing and Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Purchasing and Production Coordinators including workload management, purchase order/production management, and oversight of supplier relationships. The Purchasing and Production Supervisor is a working Supervisor who leads the Purchasing and Production team by example. The position reports to the Senior Purchasing and Production Manager with close ties to the Planning, Development/ Sourcing, Distribution Center, and Customer Service teams.


    • Evaluate and prioritize workload of Purchasing and Production Coordinators and assign suppliers, tasks, and projects to optimize team’s performance.
    • Recommend solutions for process improvements as well as perform system testing to ensure accurate implementation of new processes.
    • Document Purchasing processes in SOP and update as needed.
    • Evaluate performance of Purchasing and Production Coordinators quarterly.
    • Contribute to quarterly supplier scorecard evaluation.
    • Oversee purchasing lifecycle from PO creation through receipt and hold Purchasing and Production Coordinators accountable for maintaining accurate product delivery dates and pricing.
    • Ensure supplier compliance with WIP and ASN requirements.
    • Act as initial point of escalation to support Purchasing and Production Coordinators.
    • Lead onboarding of new suppliers.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure on-time approvals and product delivery.
    • Reconcile supplier WIP reports, production schedules, and factory performance to ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Effectively communicate with suppliers to prevent and resolve delivery challenges and quality issues.
    • Communicate product delivery delays to internal teams and quantify revenue impact.
    • Research pricing, shipment and receipt discrepancies; reconcile as needed with other departments
    • Manage Salesman Sample (SMS) process; timeline, placing Pos, communicating and expediting as needed with factories for tradeshows/ launch dates.
    • Monitor goods in transit with freight forwarders ensuring timely delivery and accurate freight cost accruals.
    • Review supplier chargebacks and work with team to ensure suppliers correct course.
    • Work with quality control department on priority shipments and serve as a backup to check production and samples for accuracy of color and spec as required.
    • Analyze demand with Purchasing and Production Coordinators to determine deliveries to prioritize. Perform gross margin analysis when air freight is required.
    • Communicate with Inbound Manager in DC, suppliers, and direct reports to flow weekly receipts based on customer needs and space/resources available.
    • Monitor actual supplier lead times versus quoted lead times and communicate discrepancies to planning team and suppliers.


      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
      • 5 years+ of experience in Production/Purchasing or similar field
      • Proven experience with project management, preparing reports and negotiations
      • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills
      • Strong initiative, dependable, & resourceful
      • Advanced Excel knowledge required
      • Research adept
      • Familiar with international shipping and logistics; customs experience a plus
      • Detail and goal oriented
