Overview

Strategically provide leadership, guidance, standardization, training plans and identification of key improvement opportunity projects through the implementation and deployment of Operational Excellence Activities and tools (Lean + Six Sigma) for Hanesbrands Inc. The scope of the position includes all global Supply Chain groups and any other business functions where improvement opportunities are identified. Responsible for the effective maintenance of the GPS program (Global Process Sustainability – i.e. ISO) across the organization. The position also provides guidance, leadership and coordination as necessary of Industrial Engineering activities across the Company including cost savings,  efficiency and process improvement projects across manufacturing and the rest of the Supply Chain The scope of the position includes all interfaces with manufacturing facilities, suppliers, contractors, outsourcing groups, support groups, and front end functions. The position requires the direct interface with the Executive Management to align initiatives to LRP process.

Responsibilities

For Continuous Improvement

 

  • Develop/Lead the Strategic Roadmap Implementation for Opex Deployment @ HbI.
  • Direct/Facilitate the Identification of Improvement Opportunities and the Action Plans needed to achieve World-Class excellence at HbI
  • Monitor/Coordinate supply-chain-wide improvement projects towards the OPEX Transformation (non-value added reduction, lead time reduction, inventory reduction, customer service improvements, Cost Savings)
  • Support Non –SC Corporate Functions in VSM and other diagnosis activities aimed at significant process improvements.
  • Facilitate and Coordinate organizational development and training activities towards a Continual Improvement culture at HbI
  • Identify Cost/Process Improvement Opportunities with major Suppliers/Contractors to share the benefits with HbI.
  • Advises/facilitates Executive Management on strategies to achieve OPEX transformation

           

            For GPS

 

  • Lead the GPS certification across all HbI facilities
  • Lead efforts to continue updating and simplifying the GPS certification
  • Monitor the organization has the right and capable resources and the adequate attention to the company mandated Management Systems

 

            For Industrial Engineering

 

  • Coordinate with all Regional and Sites Industrial Engineering any support and resources needed to optimize productivity.
    • Labor
    • Material Handling and Storage
    • Rates (Labor and Materials Improvement
    • Support the facilities in systems related issues that can impact BOL and BOM negatively.
    • Coordinate across the organization internal and external Benchmark and Best Practices activities.
    • Maintain Global Sewing and Cutting equipment inventory and optimize its distribution across the network.
    • Lead activities aimed at improve Material Utilization in Cutting and Sewing as well as Assets Utilization throughout HbI.
    • Provide Assistance to other corporate functions regarding IE related activities.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

 

  • BA/BS required/ Graduate Level MS/MBA Preferable                    
  • RAB or IATCA Senior Auditor Certificate Preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean Sigma Green Belt Certification Preferred           
  • Strategic Planning, Quality Management Systems, Lean Enterprise
  • 10 to 15 years Years of experience
  • Type of experience: Executive Management Consulting, Line Management, Operations Management
  • Required travel at least 20%
  • Spanish fluency preferred
