Provide marketing expertise to HBI marketing team(s) to accomplish approved business plans and objectives within the marketing acumen. As directed by management, responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and control of strategic marketing projects and programs for the respective assigned product line(s.) This includes comprehensive business analysis, development and implementation of marketing plans and schedules, development/ implementation of advertising programs, packaging, development/review and verification of volume forecasts, identification/development/implementation of new products and development and control of marketing expense budgets. The Marketing Assistant will also serve as the lead for all digital/.com activities relevant to the LSA business. This will include serving as the liaison between the Marketing team, the sales organization as it relates to retailer/customer specific dot com initiatives, our internal or “owned” dot com sites, and digital initiatives we will undertake through our Brand Champion organization.


  • Under the direction of marketing management develop and implement marketing plans including business analysis, execution of new product launches, packaging development, product portfolio management, inventory management and budgeting.
  • Analyze /produce effective strategic direction in relation to marketing initiatives for assigned line of business including retailer/competitive assessments and financial analysis.
  • Drives to timely conclusion those functional assigned projects as directed by the marketing management with relatively little supervision.
  • Accurately assess priorities to effectively manage marketing projects simultaneously 
  • Develop and demonstrate skills for effective and concise oral and written communication; ability to work successfully in a team oriented, matrix organizational structure.
  • Participate in product development process and own all executional details of product set up (systems set up) working with forecasting and production planning and Customer Management to develop and execute account plans. Responsible for executing selling materials for product launches including development of point-of-sale materials, analyzing competitive environment and trends.
  • Communicating directly with internal cross functional teams
  • Collecting and analyzing shipment and POS data specific to dot com sales and reporting that data as needed
  • Working with internal teams & external customers on creation of digital plans along with the execution of those plans
  • Build a detailed understanding of the Omni Channel (dot com) and assist the team is growing this segment of our business (key customers/accounts would include but are not limited to Walmart, Target, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Follett, Meijer, Costco, Sam’s Club, and Cracker Barrel).


Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • MBA preferred with 2-4 years’ experience.
  • BS/BA degree with 3-6 years’ experience required.
  • Strong communication, organization and creativity essential
  • Accurately assess priorities to effectively manage marketing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Develop and demonstrate skills for effective and concise oral and written communication
  • Ability to work successfully in a team oriented, matrix organizational structure
  • Drive to timely conclusion those to functional assigned projects as directed by Marketing/Merchandising management with little to no supervision
  • Highly proficient computer skills in MS Excel, PPT
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively with an understanding of the market
  • Detail oriented
