Establishes, communicates and champions the vision and strategy for global Apparel Product Development (PD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) areas of IT that support the vision and strategy of the Company’s strategic global business plan. Drives the development and delivery of solutions in these areas. Accountable for monitoring global trends in PD/PLM processes and technologies and identifies their impact and value to Hanesbrands, driving change where appropriate. Accountable for financial and people resources of the PD/PLM Domain while ensuring the development and delivery of high quality, efficient business processes and technology solutions for Hanesbrands.


Ensures alignment of PD/PLM solutions with the global business strategy. Responsibilities and accountabilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  1. Drives the strategic vision for PD/PLM solutions, maintaining accountability for these solutions to ensure they are a strategic advantage for Hanesbrands.
  2. Ensures business understanding and alignment on initiatives that drive the value realization of PD/PLM solutions.
  3. Accountable for, champions, develops talent for, and drives the value realization of global PD/PLM principles, processes, and solutions. Partners with IT Business Relationship Management teams and directly with global business partners to drive solutions that meet prioritized business needs.
  4. Functionally leads the development and implementation of IT initiatives to support the global PD/PLM business strategy, garnering support from other IT domains or business resources as appropriate.
  5. Identifies requirements of other global IT initiatives that require PD/PLM support and participation as part of overall delivery of global IT initiatives.
  6. Provides high-quality services at optimal cost to customers.
  7. Provides direction and input regarding the development of the global business technology plan.
  8. Functionally leads the development and implementation of technologies to improve the performance of one or more business processes and deliver on the company vision to Sell More, Spend Less and Make Acquisitions.
  9. Manages vendor relationships to maximize value to the business. Negotiates contracts.
  10. Manages global resources (budget and people) and implements the development and delivery of training and employee development for internal and external team members to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
  11. Ensures adherence to global applications security procedures, change control guidelines and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.



Minimum Education and Experience Required:

1) Minimum qualifications to fulfill responsibilities in an acceptable manner

  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • IT background preferred, with a focus in Product Lifecycle Management and/or Product Development systems.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of one industry or business unit of the enterprise.
  • Bachelor’s degree required- IT preferred. Other degrees which have applicability include Marketing, Design, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Business.
  • MBA preferred.

2) Preferred Experience


  •  Demonstrated experience in managing medium to large global teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, document and communicate the global strategy and vision of a functional area of IT.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, design, develop and implement IT initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of global CPG Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management and it’s integration to ERP solutions
