Serve as a liaison between Information Technology and the Product Development (PD) team. Leads the collection, analysis, review and documentation of PD needs, and completes designs to change existing PD solutions (primarily PTC FlexPLM) or implement new ones.


Responsible for the collection, analysis, documentation, and coordination of the Product Development (PD) business requirements. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

  1. Participates in short- and long-term planning sessions with PD to implement process improvement within the PD area. Generally involves using and improving information systems. Drives consensus aligned with business and IT strategies and documents agreements.
  2. Collaborates with business partners in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs through the analysis of business workflows and an understanding of business needs.
  3. Participates in the management of PD IT projects and requests. Assesses their needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommend options, risks and cost vs. benefits.
  4. Conducts feasibility studies and drafts proposals for evaluation by appropriate users and managers. Develops and assists in the presentation of business cases to the Product Development team.
  5. Develops, writes, and communicates requirements for the design and implementation of business solutions. Procures or Provide technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
  6. Reviews the test plan and monitors the testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested and the remaining risks are acceptable.
  7. Investigates, resolves and escalates problems. Monitors and analyzes metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
  8. Promotes an understanding of IT roles, processes and activities to the business units. Supports and participates in the formal reporting of project status. Manages customer expectations.
  9. Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced individuals.
  10. Responsible for adhering to applications security procedures, change control guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley IT and business requirements.


Minimum Education and Experience Required:

I.   Minimum qualifications to fulfill responsibilities in an acceptable manner

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 or more years of relevant technical and business work experience.

II.  Preferred Education and Experience

  • Leadership skills and experience/knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes preferred
  • Exposure to PD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, especially PTC’s FlexPLM.
  • Strong understanding of application development tools and processes.
  • The ability to mine and analyze data in support of designing and supporting IT systems.
