Design expert who can inspire, drive and manage a design team to execute trend right product within the Brand vision from concept to market.  This individual must be able to interpret business strategy while designing profitable and innovative product. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design expert and individual contributor.
• Drive innovation and technology into commercially viable product within the parameters of the brand strategy.
• Proven success identifying trend, color, and silhouette direction and forecasting future state in men’s active & athleisure apparel:
  • Make accurate assessments of the competition.
  • Accurately determine, anticipate and validate future trends, technologies and cultural drivers.
• Extensive understanding of the Men’s Specialty Channel and ability to translate fashion, culture and performance trends to the brand strategy for product.
• Experience working with factories and PD teams , developing fabric, technology and construction innovation:
  • Resolve cost/margin issues and ensure product design execution is within target costs and margin requirements.
  • Proficient with garment fit and construction and able to independently conduct fit sessions with technical design partners.
  • Ensure construction and materials enhance the wearers experience.
  • Develop and present business case recommendations for new concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills-must be able to present concepts and designs to large groups-internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to lead a group and work well within a team environment.
  • Category expert and knowledgeable about the competition.
  • Ability to manage multiple priority projects & development calendars.
  • Manage junior designers.

Requirements:

• BA/BS Degree required OR AA Fashion Degree with 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 8 years of experience in the industry required.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Functional expertise in technical fit and construction.
• Multi-tasking ability.
• Demonstrate technical/creative ability.
• Self-directed.
• Mac, Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, PLM, 3D software.
